Saleena and Stanton were so excited for this next phase of life, and choosing a destination wedding felt like the perfect expression of who they are. With residency and budget in mind, Mexico offered a way to gather their closest people in a place that felt relaxed, beautiful, and far from the stress of everyday life. They wanted a celebration that wasn’t confined to a single afternoon, but one that unfolded over days—making memories with their favorite people relaxing on the beach and drinking by the pool. A destination weekend gave them the space to be fully present, surrounded by the people who know them best, without the typical logistics or pressures that often come with traditional weddings. It allowed them to focus on what mattered most: being together, celebrating their story, and stepping into marriage with joy at the center. 

Having photographed Saleena’s sister’s wedding in 2022, being invited back to document another milestone for their family held a meaning that went far beyond familiarity. It felt like walking into a room filled with friends—people who welcomed me in, trusted me, and allowed me to document the day with complete honesty. That sense of connection opens the door for creative freedom. It shows up in the candid moments, the quick glances, the unguarded laughter that only happens when people feel deeply comfortable. Throughout the weekend, I found myself drawn not only to the big celebrations but also to the quiet in-between moments—the sisters fixing each other’s hair, parents taking everything in, friends offering heartfelt toasts. There was a tenderness to the way this family loves, and capturing that again, in a place so vibrant and full of life, was truly a gift. It’s the kind of experience that stays with you long after the gallery is delivered.
