the story:
Katharine & Jordan met on a blind date to a Mardi Gras ball 7 years ago and have been inseparable ever since! Their willingness to take the risk and have an adventure was echoed in the way they wanted to step into marriage together. After inviting me to photograph their courthouse ceremony in Alabama, they planned for us to go on an even bigger adventure to the Amalfi Coast! They wanted this trip to be more than an elopement, so invited their very best friends to join them and bring another layer of laughter and joy.
We started by photographing them getting ready, a private first look on the balcony, and more portraits. Their friends then joined as we traveled into Positano for dinner celebration. The night was full of candid laughing with their friends, and celebrating at one of the most lively and joyful dinners I’ve ever seen—complete with a live singer and restaurant guests who joined in on the fun. It felt like a big, impromptu family party of strangers, and it was unforgettable. The next morning, we documented their vows on a windy March hillside overlooking the Positano skyline. Because it was off-season, we had the beauty of the coast practically to ourselves, and the quiet, unrushed morning gave us the most stunning images.
Overall, their elopement was a dream—full of adventure, laughter, adaptation, and so much heart. I felt incredibly honored that Katharine and Jordan trusted me with such a meaningful chapter of their story.
