the story:
Hunter had first learned about Jillian from a mutual friend, but it wasn’t until they met by chance on a dating app that they officially connected. A week after that initial hello, they went on the first date and the rest was history. Sixteen months later Hunter surprised her with a beautiful proposal at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens, where their closest friends and family were waiting in the background to celebrate them. Two years later on their dating anniversary, while planning their destination wedding, they married at the little courthouse in town. Being apart of both of these moments of pure happiness and joy, unlike I have ever felt while documenting, was something I will never forget.
Seven months later, we were in Charleston, SC for their perfect wedding day. Because our families are close, documenting this day felt deeply personal. Capturing a wedding for people I love, in my favorite place, is a privilege I don’t take lightly. Every moment—every laugh, every detail—felt like a gift to witness. Jillian worked with Partrick & Co Events and Country and Lace Florist to utilize soft blues, pinks, and greens in such an intentional and subtle way. They were able to blend an old southern romance with a fresh look. Throughout the gallery, you can see that tie between trends and tradition, which compliments my approach of combining traditional posing and candid movement. I felt so inspired throughout the entire day, looking to document all of their details and loved ones in a way that felt both genuine and raw. I could not be more honored to have been chosen to tell their story.
